Brabus is one of the best known Mercedes car tuners, and produces a huge array of tuned versions of Mercedes AMG products. And at the Essen Motor Show this week it’s revealed the Brabus B63 S, a tuned and sorted Mercedes E63 AMG with extra horses. Also on offer are liberal doses of carbon fibre and other interior tweaks and titivates.
The National Insurance Crime Bureau database released a report of the top-10 most stolen luxury cars in the United States from 2009 to 2012, and Mercedes-Benz to be most in the line of fire. Three Mercedes models made the list: the Mercedes-Benz C-class, E-class and S-class. At least the thieves have good taste.
Lotus are suing ousted CEO Dany Bahar for £2.5 million to recover the cost of his expensive lifestyle billed to Lotus. It seems DBR-HiCom, new owners of Proton (which own Lotus), took one look at the mess in Hethel and dumped Bahar, replacing him with engineer Aslam Farikullah to try and re-focus Lotus on its core products and engineering instead of pursuing Bahar’s fantasy of churning out the biggest range of luxury supercars of any car maker on the planet. That ousting led to Bahar issuing proceedings against Lotus for £6.7 million in August for wrongful dismissal (which gives you some idea of Bahar’s estimate of his own worth).
